Humidifier, Dehumidifier, HEPA, and Air Quality Services

Whether you love the heat or the cool air, you want your air to be clean and safe to breathe. Loombas Plumbing is here for you. We service all commercial and residential air conditioning (or AC) and ventilation systems (often combined together to form the acronym HVAC – Heating, ventilation, air conditioning) to help keep your home just the right temperature and the air you breathe fresh and healthy.

Humidifiers and dehumidifiers are cousins commonly found in homes in Canada. Humidifiers add much-needed moisture to the air to combat the dryness of winter, whereas dehumidifiers sucks dampness and moisture out of the air, which can be especially helpful in our damp basements during BC’s rainy season. Dehumidifiers are also beneficial when cleaning up from flooding and foundation problems, or even just from the moisture created from your dryer or cooking.

Humidifiers are particularly useful not only for helping with dry skin, but for people suffering from allergies, because dry air irritates nasal passages and creates an environment ripe for allergens to take effect. Indoor air that is well-balanced in moisture will also prevent debris and allergens from rising into the air. As you can see, both humidifiers and dehumidifiers have their place in making a home or business healthy and comfortable.

HEPA filters are high-efficiency particulate air (or arresting) filters that help keep your home and indoor air clean and healthy. These filters can grab dust, pollen, dust mite feces, and debris particles as small as 0.3 microns – the human eye cannot see less than 10 microns, about the thickness of a human hair! HEPA filters do not, however, filter out cigarette smoke, gases, or odour molecules (for those, you need an activated charcoal filter, in addition to a HEPA filter).
